Having bad breath just before an important interview, or just before kissing a love one? No one wants bad breath. The bacteria in our mouth is the cause. Here are a few tips to limit bad breath.
- Brush (teeth, gum, tongue, side and roof of mouth) twice daily
- Floss teeth properly (see proper flossing techniques here)
- Food such as garlic and onion with strong odor cause bad breath, consume with caution
- Drinking water will help increase saliva production, which in turn help flush out the odor-causing bacteria. Some medications may cause dry mouth (xerostomia) and limit saliva production. We get bad breath in the morning, partly because our body slows saliva production when we sleep.
- Don’t smoke or chew tobacco.
